Phosphate ligands in the gold(I)-catalysed activation of enynes.

چکیده
Gold(I) forms neutral complexes with binol phosphates that are unreactive in the catalytic cyclisation of enynes. Reaction in protic solvents or activation by silver(I) restores the catalytic activity.

Study of substrate dependence on the chemoselectivity of the gold-catalysed cycloisomerisation of aryl substituted 1,7-enynes.
The effects of starting material substitution patterns on reaction selectivity for the gold(I)-catalysed cycloisomerisations of aryl substituted 1,7-enynes were investigated. The results indicated the chemoselectivity of the reaction to be highly substrate and catalyst dependent. Either the piperidine or the tetrahydro-1H-azepine product was obtained in moderate to excellent yields depending on...
متن کاملGold(I)-catalysed cycloisomerisation of 1,6-enynes into functionalised allenes.
1,6-Enynes can be transformed into vinylidenecyclopentanes via gold-promoted 5-exo dig cyclisation followed by 1,5-hydride or -alkoxide shift.
متن کاملThe role of cyclobutenes in gold(I)-catalysed skeletal rearrangement of 1,6-enynes.
1,6-Enynes with electron-donating substituents at the alkyne undergo gold(I)-catalysed single cleavage skeletal rearrangement, whereas substrates with electron-withdrawing substituents evolve selectively to double cleavage rearrangement. Theoretical calculations provide a qualitative rationale for these effects, and suggest that bicyclo[3.2.0]hept-5-enes are involved as intermediates. We provid...
متن کاملActivation Strategies for Enhancement the Catalytic Activity of Gold Nanocatalysts
Recent advances in nanoscience have led to the development of numerous methodologiesfor controlled synthesis of mono dispersed nanoparticles and/or nanoclusters via surface stabilization by organic capping ligands. The application of these nanoparticles in catalysis and other fields often requires the removal of organic ligands. It is known that the removal of organic capping agents or or...
متن کاملA ligand-directed divergent catalytic approach to establish structural and functional scaffold diversity
The selective transformation of different starting materials by different metal catalysts under individually optimized reaction conditions to structurally different intermediates and products is a powerful approach to generate diverse molecular scaffolds. In a more unified albeit synthetically challenging strategy, common starting materials would be exposed to a common metal catalysis, leading ...
